Greetings, fellow members of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New Jersey.
We are announcing an exciting development that we believe will be of interest to you. The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New Jersey will be forming a colony in the northern part of the Garden State. Our Society has long had two subsidiary colonies serving the central portion of the state (First Colony) and the southern part of the state (Jersey Cape Colony). Members of our existing colonies enjoy the benefits of meeting in a convenient location and sharing our proud heritage with their Mayflower “cousins.” The formation of a northern colony (yet to be named) will serve to facilitate the gathering of fellow Mayflower descendants in a location more easily accessible to residents in the northern part of the state.
There are no specific geographic boundaries for any of our colonies. Members of our State Society are welcome to join any or all of the colonies. But this new colony will initially focus on residents in the eight northernmost counties of our state – Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren.
We plan to have two meetings per year in a convenient location.
If you have an interest in joining this newly forming colony, please complete and return the form below or just email me at [email protected].
Yes! I am interested in becoming a member of the North Jersey Colony.
