Membership in the New Jersey Society of Mayflower Descendants is available to any person who is able to document their lineal descent from one or more of the following Mayflower Pilgrims:

The best documentation to look for is vital records such as the birth, marriage, and death certificates for each person. Other documentation might include published genealogies, family documents, and other official records. If you have a relative who is a member of the Society, you may be able to use their lineage documentation to help you with your research. The Mayflower Families Silver Book series document the first five generations plus of descendants from Mayflower passengers. In order to facilitate research, we provide copies of of the Silver Book series to various Libraries and Historical Societies throughout the state. See our Resources page for our preliminary application form, as well as links to facilities that maintain our Silver Book series.
Membership Application Procedures
Print out the Preliminary Application Form from our web site, and fill it out beginning with the name of your Pilgrim ancestor. On the next line, list his or her son or daughter, and who they married. Then list the next son or daughter and their spouse, through the generations down to you.
There is a non-refundable $50.00 fee for our Historian to review your completed Preliminary Application. Please make your check payable to SMD-NJ.

Once membership is approved, members may choose to pay annual dues or make a one-time payment for Life Membership. Our current dues structure is as follows:
